Samsung

Samsung’s smartphones historically were always considered as main iPhone competitors. After initially introducing their premium Galaxy series at selective Asian markets in 2010, American release came shortly afterwards in summer of that year. First month after American release, Galaxy S shipped more than million devices. For three years after that, these phones were considered uneven in quality because of four operating systems being utilized, including Samsung’s own Bada. Whether it was lobbying by tech giants or other factors, these were dropped in favor of Microsoft’s and Google’s operating systems. It proved to be a successful decision, as in 2011 company sold more smartphones worldwide than Apple! During next four years Samsung continued to sell more than anyone else, until a disaster came in 2016 with Galaxy Note 7 model, which proved to be dangerous for use. Sometimes it exploded, and this was blamed on lack of proper testing. This costed few top executives their job and billions in damages.
