The group has a history of ten years, but succeeded to remain one of the most influential groups of hip-hop. They were also the first to introduce a lot of jazz influences in their music and a lot of melancholic tunes. They started with a smooth creation by Ali Shaheed Muhammad to which were added a lot of jazz and dynamic influences from Ron Carter. Their 1991 album ‘The Low End Theory’ was considered as one of the masterworks of the group and an amazing sample of quality hip-hop music. The same success was seven years ago, after the launch of their final LP ‘The Love Movement’. It was released as a a triple-vinyl concept album that included the single "Find a Way" together with various other B-sides as well as older remixes. Even though the band does not exist any more, it continues to be a good source of inspiration for many young hip-hop hopes.
