Garbage appeared in the world of music at the perfect time, in the middle of the 1990s when everyone was looking for some exciting music. The brainchild of Butch Vig, an equally talented drummer and producer, the band introduced the electronic/alternative songs of women as part of the music landscape. Vig did not only fathered this amazing band, but he also coordinated the production work of other interesting bands, such as Smashing Pumpinks, Nirvana or L7. One of the most important elements of success for Garbage is Shirley Manson’s fantastic presence; she may be a bit dirty and direct, but her sneering vocals are hard to compare with anything before in the world of alternative music.
