The main inspiration of the Kaiser Chiefs are all the famous Brit icons; Blur, Jam and Oasis are the most important ones. Their post-punk original vibes are a sign that the old rock is looking for a new closet of musical coverings. The band was created in Leeds, but they took their name from a South-African Football club. What is the connection between Leeds and South Africa: the former player of this club, Lucas Radebe, used to be for a while the captain of Leeds United. They released their first songs in 2004 – ‘I Predict a Riot’ and ‘Oh My God’, but their real recognition took place in 2005, when their first debut album ‘Employment’ was shared with the masses. The news about their quality music spread in the UK and they were immediately put in the same drawer with other famous Brit rebel bands, such as Futureheads, Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand. Their fans love their performances full of energy, as it was the case with the 2005 Philadelphia Live 8 concerts. They are a frequent presence on the guest lists of many UK festivals, hence their 2005 Philadephia for Best British Live Act. At the beginning of 2007 they released an important album for their career ‘Yours Truly, Angry Mo’, whose lead single ‘Ruby’ was able to reach the no. 1 on the UK charts.
