As a very complex studio guitarist, Larry Carlton solos were part of the albums and stage presences of many stars such as Joni Mitchell, Michael Jackson and Steely Dan. He is more than a good musician, but also an example of creativity and virtuosity and thus, no wonder that his solo on Steely Dan’s ‘Kid Charlemagne’ is studied at length by the students at Berklee who are interested to find out how to create creative jazz music. His jazz and soul combinations are his trademark that accompanies many of his albums. His music was also included in various movies and television shows, such it was the case with ‘Hill Street Blues’. Since the 1970s he is always busy on tour with various bands such as Fourplay and Crusaders. In the late 1980s, he went into the media not for his musical career, but for his accident when he was wounded in the neck in a purposeless shooting. The accident did not leave any traces and shortly thereafter he was able to continue his successful musical career.
