Mullins grew up on a Navajo reservation and was also proud of his roots. His music has not only local Native American influences but also Celtic harmonies. Rich Mullins’s career ended dramatically in 1997, when he was killed in a car crash, but his influence in the world of music continues to be very strong. He was a multitalented musician, as a piano and guitar player, gifted with a good voice and with excellent songwriting qualities. His worship song ‘Awesome God’ was considered in 1989 by Christian Research Report as one of the top three songs of the decade and continue to be very much appreciated by this special audience. Another famous song about him ‘Sing Your Praise to the Lord’ was included in the album ‘Age to Age’, by Amy Grant. His portfolio of songs has many famous titles, such as ‘Sometimes by Step’, ‘Calling Out Your Name’, ‘If I Stand’ or ‘Creed’.
