Rita Coolidge’s main influences are, besides his famous husband Kris Kristofferson, Eric Clapton, Delaney and Bonnie and Stephen Stills. The gospel she sings is uttered as a deep message of her soul. Her musical presence is very natural and smooth. In 1971 she decided to try her luck as a solo singer, offering a cover of ‘Higher and Higher’, by Jackie Wilson, but also producing her own song ‘We’re All Alone’. A couple of years later, in 1998, she launched ‘Thinking About You’ that demonstrates her strength and newly found musical personality. It has a lot of classical country-folk harmonies that she has played since her official launch in the world of music.
