The three girls that create this group are originally from Southern California and they developed their beautiful friendship into a successful musical project. The band was created in 1989 by Chynna Philips – the girls of The Mamas and the Papa’s John and Michelle Phillips – and Wendy and Carnie Wilson – whose father is anyone else but the famous Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys. They were able to sign a contract with SBK Records that made possible the production of their self-titled debut album in 1990. From the beginning, they produced songs that were shortly produced as No.1 hits, such as ‘You’re in Love’, ‘Release Me’ and ‘Hold On’. In 1992, the girls were appreciated as the producers of an album that was considered the best selling of all time all-female group. The previous record by Supreme was far behind. The success was not enough to convince the members of the group to give up their plans to launch into solo careers or to have their own families. The group reunited for a couple of times for producing new albums: in 2004, for ‘California’, and in 2010 for the production of the much appreciated album 'Christmas in Harmony'.
