Yes will always represent a special episode in the tormented history of 70s rock. The members of the groups are not only accomplished masters of the sound, but also creators of new musical trends and even of a church, Church of Prog whose members are proudly calling themselves mathemagicians. Their musical inspiration is King Crimson, whose synth solos and three- and four-part harmonies patterns could be still identified with their music. To their influence one should also add the medieval themes used as a framework for some of their classical rock productions. At the beginning of the 80s, they successfully adapted the synthesizers and hit the radio charts in 1983 with the classical ‘Owner of a Loney Heart’. They still continue to be present in the nowadays musical arena both on radio and with different concerts around the world.
